SOTA activation of Waun Fach

GW/SW-002 Waun Fach approached from the West under far from ideal conditions during February 2011. Although not easy a great time was had and many QSO’s made on 40 meters. The antenna was a resonant half wave dipole fed with mini coax straight back to the K1. No ATU was needed. I wanted to keep weight to the minimum. Having honed my set-up skills to a fine art I can be QRV in a matter of minutes, important when operating from an exposed site.
